Agios Prokopios is one of the most popular beaches of Naxos since it is only about 5 kilometres away from Naxos Town and with a better beach than Naxos Town. The beach has golden sand with crystalclear water with a sheltered location. One part of the beach is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas and watersport activities. The other part is left to its natural beauty and totally unspoiled by tourist facilities. Except the beach you also find a small village with good selection of hotels, restaurants and shops.

Sand

St. George is the beach in Naxos Town and because of the location it is also the most popular and busy beach on the island. It is a long, sandy beach with shallowed water. The beach is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and offers different water sport activities. Along the beach you find hotels and restaurants. Windsurfers are surfing in the sea in the most southern part of the beach that normally has many bigger waves. It is possible to make lessons here because the water is quite shallow and the wind is good.

Sand

Agia Anna is a small, calm fishing village where the port is the center of the village. The village has two sandy beaches with the small fishing port and some rocky formations separating the beaches. One of the beaches is organized with sunbeds and umbrellas. The other part is unspoiled. Both beaches have beautiful water. You can make a nice walk along the port or around the rocks to the small church on the small footpath where the cedars grow. There are several restaurants in the area.

Mikri Vigla consists of two beautiful sandy beaches separated by a huge rock. The northern beach is called Parthenos and it is a wonderful beach with soft golden sand and crystalclear water. This beach is internationally famous for kitesurfing and windsurfing because of the strong winds. You find two good clubs for renting high quality equipment and making courses. The other beach is called Limanaki and it is an endless sandy beach with amazing crystalclear water. This beach is protected from the wind and is normally a pieceful and calm place to be. Several nice hotels and restaurants can be found in the area.

Aliko is a peacefull beach on the southwest coast of Naxos. This specific region consists of many small bays with soft white sand and crystal water. Some trees provide shade to the visitors, while the beach is not organized with sunbeds and umbrellas. There are some restaurants. The landscape above the beach is unique with a cedar forest and sand dunes.

Plaka is the beach area south of Agia Anna and it is known as one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. It is a calm and endless sandy beach with magical, crystal clear water. As you follow the dirt road along the beach you find many sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach but after a while it is more unspoiled nature without any tourist facilities. Hotels are possible to find here and the area is perfect for the beach lovers.
